Blueberry Muffin Cake, an easy blueberry-laced confection with a crunchy streusel topping, is delicious served for brunch or dessert!
I can feel it in the air. Summer is coming. But here in Houston, that phrase is uttered with more of a “Game of Thrones” style dread than excitement. Well, for me anyway. It means the return of suffocating heat and humidity and my personal inability to do anything outside without ending up looking like I jumped in a pool. But on the bright side of things, it also means that the berries are just getting better and better! And I do love my berries. Mixed in smoothies, adorning cereal, out of hand eating, and of course, dessert. Now, this lovely Blueberry Muffin Cake actually pulls double duty, as while you can definitely serve it for dessert, you can also definitely use it for breakfast or brunch. Maybe even for Easter?
Overnight Yeasted Waffles are a light, crispy, and oh-so-easy way to start your weekend brunch, or even a weekday breakfast. All the prep happens the night before!
So you know that we love waffles, be it for appetizers, dessert, or as a name for our dog, but now we finally are presenting one designed for breakfast. This recipe for Overnight Yeasted Waffles is my personal favorite. They cook up so light, crispy, and tasty that you just can’t help but stack them up tall and dripping with butter and syrup. Plus, you make up the batter the night before, so you don’t have to worry about banging around the kitchen making too much noise and possibly waking up your housemates. Something to perhaps keep in mind with Valentine’s Day coming up if you’re looking to make breakfast in bed for your significant other. Wink!
Cherry Lattice Coffee Cake looks gorgeous, tastes scrumptious, and even freezes beautifully! Make it ahead of time for a holiday breakfast that’s ready in a snap.
Well here we are right in the thick of holiday season, and that means hosting larger than average groups of friends and family. We just had Thanksgiving at our home, and while we love hosting parties with lots of food, it’s a lot of work. I even took to scheduling our cooking schedule for the big day in an Excel file to keep track of everything. Laugh if you want, but we had everything ready at the same time! Anyway, one thing that certainly helps take some of the stress away is to make food ahead of time, and this recipe for cherry lattice coffee cake is perfect either as an easy weekday breakfast for guests or to complement your fancy brunch gathering.
